Answering myself:

Sorry no, it does'nt work!!
(I have edited the basket.html page several times while the vend daemon
was running and the results are somewhat like "Black Magic")

This is a BUG !

I'll try to update to 3.12 today, but I have no hope that this bug is
gone then.
