restarting minivend - should I be allowed to do this?

I noticed a minivend process running on my
ISP's machine.  When I built the simple demo
I replied yes when asked if I wanted to add
my catalog to the already running minivend.

Then I did a restart, and indeed I was able to
restart the running minivend.

That was great for me because I didn't have to
deal with the ISP at all, but is this setup
dangerous?  Could someone else stop this minivend
process and shut me down?
