Flycat Log-in errors

I have just updated to 3.12 (was 3.12beta6) and my current store is running
fine. I have installed both the new demo and flycat on another domain (same
machine and mvend server.) The new demo functions fine, login specifically.
However, the flycat login is giving me the classic "internal server" error. All
other aspects appear to function fine. The Apache error log says premature
script header error for the vlink and the catalog error.log file says this:
208.197.116.132 m99qcEip:nobody - [09/April/1999:21:44:07 -0400] flycat
/cgi-rs/
flycat/process Runtime error: Password mismatch.
However I am using the right passwrd and have also tried creating a new
account with the same error. I notice the "nobody" and am assuming that is
the httpd-server. Mvend and the catalog user are both members of group
"other". Since the demo catalog login feature is functioning just fine on the
same domain, I am confused as to why this may not be working for flycat.
Any ideas much appriciated....
I want to use the flycat samples for a site that allows various local craftsman
to sell their product all under the same roof. We have local retail stores that
do it, so why not virtual stores.... flycat seems perfect for this.
