Up Load Minivend to virtual servers

Have tried to no avail to FTP Minivend to virtual ISP server for several
client's. We are new to shoping cart tech and are having difficulty
installing this product to server.
We are able to create catalogue on working unit but it doesn't respond
when FTP'd to server.
Using latest version of Minivent and Perl on local unit.
Has anyone had same difficulty and can you offer a solution.
