Just be careful about trying them both out simultaneously.
As I recall, they share common binary names for some of
the programs.  sendfax, in particular, comes to mind.

mgetty+sendfax has the added bonus of using voice modems
with vgetty to send sound recordings out (the uses are obvious).
I haven't looked at it in a while but m+s wasn't as polished
or feature rich as HylaFAX.  YMMV.
