No doubt about that! I use Linux, NT and 95 so I don't have that big a bias
but it is amazing to me how MScentric MS is. Redmond believes that EVERYONE
uses MS products and the .00001% who don't, don't deserve to have computers.
While this attitude of, "you need to write to our specs", may work on the
Wintel desktop; it certainly doesn't apply to the net. In fact, MS is not
even close to being the major player much less the standard on the net.
Fact is Unixes rule the net and in general (there are exceptions) they play
by the rules (i.e. follow the standards). But, Bill thinks he can change
everything on the server end with marketing. You would think by reading the
press that NT runs the whole Internet well the facts are to the contrary
and I really don't see it changing. The reality is you can't put mission
critical systems on a PC, much less a PC running NT.
Just my thoughts.
