Remember, don't confuse "se=h" which is what you want to match in the
database and "va=letter_range=H" which is probably text to show the user
(i.e. "Films Beginning with [value letter_range]"). Check your database
for what is in the field "title_file". It should contain entried like
"ab", "cd", "ef". To show films starting with "H" you would do:

scan/sf=title_file/tf=sort_order/se=h/sp=showfilms/va=letter_range=H

I hope "title_file" is a field name and not a file name. If it is the file
it should be "fi=title_file" and you would need to add a new "sf=myfield"
for the actial field. If the search you really want is to match the first
letter in the title of the film to any letters in the field with the
letters to match (I am confusing myself now) you would have to do
substring searches. For example, if you want "se=h" to match all the
fields with "fghi" I think you would add "su=yes" to turn
mv_substring_match ON. Or maybe it's mv_orsearch, I am not positive about
this so you should read the docs carefully.
