Validating Fields when you click on an image

I'm working on a form which will take the user's info such as name address
before letting them continue into the site. Using the FORM
ACTION="[process-target]", not setting &final=yes in the checkout profile,
and setting mv_succespage to the page I I want them to go to works.

Now the client wants to have sponsor buttons and they too require the name &
address info. How can I force a validation of the input fields prior to
linking to the sponsor page?
