Re: Does AllowGlobal cause Subs to fail?
****** message to minivend-users from "Gerard Olszowiec" <gerard@entitysoftware.com> ******
Christian:
It was my past post that you recall. I have found that in MV 3.08 when you
specify AllowGlobal <catalog_name> in minivend.cfg it will cause all but the
last subroutine defined in catalog.cfg to fail. I got the same errors as
you have indicated. This is regardless of whether you actually define a
global subroutine in minivend.cfg or not. Just the existence of AllowGlobal
is enough to cause the problem. It was suggested that I put "no strict;" at
the top of my subroutines, but that did not fix the problem. My solution
wasn't the best. I moved all subroutines to catalog.cfg and opened up
Safe.pm a bit by using SafeUnTrap in minivend.cfg. Shudder!!! This allowed
me to make some unsafe system calls.
Cheers,
Gerard
