Excel Database Import Quirk

I am using Excel to create a tab-delimited products.asc file.  As noted in
the documentation, "'s are appended to the beginning and end of each text
entry.  I have tried changing the catalog.cfg entry to look like:

Database    products    products.asc    1

I have also tried:

Database    products    products.asc    EXCEL    1


and some other variations on that theme.  After stopping and restarting
minivend, I still get the "'s at the beginning and end of the text entries.
Can anyone shed any light on what I might be doing wrong?
