You definitely got something wrong here, which shows me also that you
didn't read too much of the documentation or archives. 8-)

I have nothing to do with any part of the MiniVend software or
documentation. I am sorry to see you got that misconception. My
catalog is/was hosted by minivend.com and I am/was a happy customer of
Mike Heins for a catalog project which turned out to be beyond my head
and finances.

So far I haven't contributed ONE technical answer to this list and am
embarrassed that someone could have wrong perceptions about this.

I do have though learned a lot from the whole project, as I am
following closely how MiniVend
was developed and I am genuinely interested to see it going and become
a very useful package
in whatever format.

I am following MiniVend since over two and a half years and it is only
since a couple of weeks that I decided and am able to become one day a
self-taught person concerning Perl and MV and System Administration.
May be too long of a time in these days, where you can count the a www
year like dog years, i.d. one www year = seven man years.

Then on the other hand, if MiniVend would be a package which has no
place in one www year from now on, why would the author Mike Heins
invest thousands of hours of work in it and customers months of
figuring it out ?

It's a decision everyone has to decide for himself, but in my
experience you get out of it with
many things learned and it is very worth while going through the
process of trying it out.

It's time to look for someone to help you out. You could decide to run
it on Linux, couldn't you ? 8-)
