FreeBsd miniVend and a MS-SQL database on NT access through ODBC
****** message to minivend-users from Mariusz Matuszewski <MMatuszewski@PL.EEFT.COM> ******
I am trying to access external MSSQL database from my mini Vend running on
FreeBSD.
Technical details:
FreBSD 3.0
miniVend 3.11
Windows NT Workstation 4.0 SP4
Microsoft SQL server 6.5
When the minivend was running on the same NT box there was no problem:
Database products products DBI:ODBC:myDSN
There was even no need to point to the SQL server tcp/ip port (which is
1433)
Right now I tried several options like:
Database products products DBI:ODBC:unixIP:1433
or
Database products products DBI:ODBC:TCP/IP unixIP 1433
and many others.
Documentation for that is allmost nonexistent.
Is there anyone who is using such a configuration, or can poit me out with
proper syntax for that connection.
PS.
Of course the computers see each other and from unix box I can telnet with
success to the MSSQL tcp/ip port.
