Which version to use?

Hi!
I'm missing a "changes" document on the minivend homepage (either because
it's not there or because I'm to blind to see), so I'm a little lost on
which version I should use.
Downloading the "latest" version still yields 3.11, but the documentation I
downloaded referrs to 3.12, which still seems to be in beta-state. Reading
this mailing-list I get the impression that most people use 3.12beta.
Could anybody please summarize the differences between the two versions? Is
3.12 stable enough for professional use?
