Hosting minivend with an ISP

****** message to minivend-users from "reuben" <reuben@anet-chi.com> ******

Hi there

I just joined this list, read the past archives but I couldn't
find an answer to the problem I have with minivend.

I am building an ecommerce site using minivend. I did it
once before, and it worked after the usual configuration
hassles. I have no problems with the first implementation
since i have some control over the server.

However, I have a second client which needs to have his
site hosted with an ISP. I have developed the app on my
server and it works wonderfully. But I can't get it to work
with the ISP. The ISP assures me that it is a domain
account, and i have full access to my CGI-BIN and
HTTPD deamon (which I did).

The problem is when I start up minivend, and try to
access the cgi-bin/simple demo, it gives me the "500
Internal Server Error". Logs mentioned the generic
"Premature end of script headers:"

This has me going for a couple of days. I noticed that on
the same physical server, some other account is already
using minivend and is running correctly (I tried their site).

One day, the ISP rebooted the server and my catalog
started working. However, the other account's minivend
did not start up (I guess they didn't put it an automatic
start minivend on reboot).

So, is there any documentation on how to deal with this?
I am pretty sure that it has something to do with 2
minivend deamons running on the same physical server.
However, I have a domain account which was suppose to
logically separate the server in virtual machines, doesn't
it?

Are there any documents on how to fix this?
Also, are there any personal recommendations for ISPs
that works with minivend? I would like to deal with an ISP
who knows about the product. Preferable in the Chicago,
IL USA area.

Thanks for any help.
