Most of the questions that come through this list are
issues we deal with as a matter of course all the time.
But I can't help with many of them because we don't 
generally use the vast bulk of the minivend tags.  Instead
we use our own internal library integrated into Vend/lib.  

We don't muck with the ordering process much, but we do
largely bypass the menagerie of tags, sorts and searches
in favor of a q`<ahem>simpler/rawer</ahem>` SQL-DBIish type interface.
It's pretty much just an extension of array_query().

We don't let users play with the code for their catalogs; they
have businesses to run and aren't interested in progamming.
We bypass %Safe as a matter of course; we make all sorts of
systems calls.

Who else is using minivend like that?
