That's what ascii mode in FTP is for.
Windoze uses \r\n, Macs use \r, UNIX uses \n
if you transfer a file in ascii mode, it'll translate the line endings as
appropriate, based on the system you're coming from/going to.
(which is why if you download a binary in ascii mode, it becomes
corrupted)
