Re: Queston about Access

****** message to minivend-users from "Hans-Joachim Leidinger" <hans-joachim.leidinger@home.gelsen-net.de> ******

I use Access! That is my way:
1) i have some fields like code, price, display, comment, etc
2) Some column / field is a memo-field, to get more text (i.e.
description with more than 255 characters)
3) mark each column and click the right mouse-button, rename this column
to i.e. "price" etc.
4) export this database as "txt", choose TAB without Qoutation mark ""
and choose the column-name as the first row with the fields-name
You get i.e. a product.txt with TAB between each fields without
Qoutation mark "" !

I have no problem with this way, but there is a different between UNIX
and DOS/WIN!
In Unix, all row has "^M" at the end of line (returncode)!
Look for the two files "unix2dos.exe" and "dos2unix.exe" via websearch
(i do not know exactly the adress), who convert your files for win and
UNIX!

I hope, this can help you!

Joachim
