We provide this interface but use an sql back end.  Issues are
the same though.  All you need to do is get a unique key at one
defined point.  You may need to lock the file if that is a concern.

Realistically, the web interface is inadequate for anyone with more than
a handful of products.  Yes you might use it to touch up here and
there but if you have thousands of products you need a better process.
If you have only a handful of products the chances of someone 
stepping on someone else are remote, eg small store, probably
only one storekeeper.
