tip on updating rc.local on FreeBSD 2.2.8

Hello!
 
 I'm working on having the minivend server start automatically when the
server reboots, and I get errors when running both the suggested
commands from the commandline as root. This is on FreeBSD 2.2.8

 The commands I tried were:

su -c /usr/local/mvend/bin/start mvend   

        su -c mvend <<EOF
/usr/local/mvend/bin/start
EOF

which both resulted in the same error:
su: /nonexistent: No such file or directory 

I'm sure this related to mvends password file entry, which looked like so

mvend:encrypted_passwd:1042:1042:Minivend
pseudo-user:/usr/local/mvend:/nonexistent  

The solution was to use this syntax instead:
su -m mvend -c '/usr/local/mvend/bin/start'
