This is becoming an FAQ.
Set mv_substring_match to "yes" (su=yes). The problem is that your
machine is not correctly set for locale. If you have this be the
last line in catalog.cfg:
Locale ru_RU default
Then MiniVend *should* work with Cyrillic, even to the extent of
recognizing the proper boundary characters for word matching. However,
I have found that locales are often not properly set.
