BIG database problems

****** message to minivend-users from Michel Chamberland <crakrjak@xerxes.com> ******

Hi, im trying to create a online catalogue with 96000 items. at first i
tried from ascii text.. no luck. Then i though i was asking a little bit
too much of plain old text format so i stored the dataset in a oracle
database. still no luck then i reduced that dataset to 2000 records in
oracle still no luck. then i reduced it to 80 items then alala minivend
starts working!

When it doesnt work what happens is the web page sits there for a while
and then i get a "document contains no data" pop-up. nothing is printed in
error.log

So im wondering if minivend will work with more than 80 records? what
would be a realistic limit for the size of the database? Is there anything
i can do to get this working much faster? Are there any alternative to
minivend that could handle big databases better? i'm thinking of Oracle
Internet Commerce Server right now but personnaly i like minivend, id like
to stick with it if at all possible.

Thanks for any help!
