Help - configuration for Win 95 Apache Minivend 1.3
****** message to minivend-users from atech@InfoAve.Net ******
Does minivend work on Apache Win 95, and what do I need to type in to
get it to work on my localhost - C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs
directory ?
I am trying to run Minivend 1.3 on a Win 95 Apache 1.1.3 server.
I have the newest version of activestate perl 5 and all the
modules needed to process database scripts. I can get Minivend
through the configuration process without an error, however when
I reach the web page that tells me to >> try it << I get a file
not found error. Everything is in the default directory. Here is
one example I tried.
Home directory for a virtual domain
(I always type in)
C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs
Catalog name: cat1
Template to use: simple
Server name: 127.0.0.1
Catalog Directory: C:/mvend/catalogs/cat1
( These next few lines are probably where I am going wrong.
I have tried many different combinations, but without any
success. )
HTML directory: C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/html
( I added the html file name because that is one of the examples
in >> Often it is: << )
CGI Directory: C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/html
Base URL for CGI: /scripts
Catalog HTML: C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/html/cat1
HTML URL: http://127.0.0.1/html/cat1
(Images come up fine so I will skip that part )
CGI URL and ALIASES: /scripts/cat1.exe
/cat1
This is how my final page reads before initialization of cat1.
Configuration
Wizard Check the information:
Catalog name: cat1
Directory: C:/mvend/catalogs/cat1
URLs http://127.0.0.1/html/cat1
to call http://127.0.0.1/html/cat1/scripts/cat1.exe
catalog:
HTML to: C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/html/cat1
Images to: C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/html
/cat1/images
Link mode: INET
Add to minivend.cfg file yes
Running server yes
Minivend server says - "Rconfig of cat1 successful" but when I get to the
try it page I click on the link and get the file not found error.
I look in Apache and there is a html/cat1 file in
C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs and I can get to the
index page and click on any link I get file not found errors.
cat1.exe is located in C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs, but
not in C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache/htdocs/html/cat1/scripts
where I thought it should be. There is no scripts file or tlink
program anywhere in my Apache server. I do have apache server running
and cgi program will work on any web page in my apache setup.
I have tried many different configurations, but I still get the
same problem. This is the only other error I received when trying
different URLs
Couldn't copy link executable from C: /mvend/bin/tlink.exe to C...
I have tried 20 to 30 different configurations, and each time I
erase all files created during setup ( c:/mvend, /html/cat1 , cat1.exe )
and start all over from scratch. Is there a configuration I am missing ?
