I have'nt seen a reply to this on the list, but I've hit the same problem
when I moved my export pages to the 'new' syntax -
I've found it works with [compat] i .e.

[compat]
	[tag export products exports/products.asc][/tag]
[/compat]

Contrary to the manual, the default export directory is 'products', so
I had to create the exports directory within the products directory
as I did not wanted to keep the exported files separate.

Is anyone using the new synax with tag export ?
i.e
	tag op=export base="products"
