[ic] Background color

I have been using ZOPE since 1997 and I am new to interchange so forgive me 
the stupid question. 
How do I start changing the bgcolours and other design stuff of existing 
templates? (other then uploading completely new HTML files)
I tried to change a few things in theme.cfg without any effect. I applied 
changes, restarted the whole server and the colours stayed the same.
