No. But it seems to make sense to do it that way....in fact, with 4.9
and its [item-common ...] tag, I think I can make that change there.

You can work around it I think, by changing the name of the
nontaxable field "mv_nontaxable" in your database and putting

	NonTaxableField mv_nontaxable
	AutoModifier    mv_nontaxable

in catalog.cfg.
