[ic] need to adjust day on time tag

I am trying to adjust the current day to 1 week ago.
[time adjust="-7 days"]%Y%m%d[/time]

The closest thing I found to help me was this snippet
in the archives

I want to do what that does but I want my time to
remain in the yyyymmdd format.

Also, I tried that snippet but it seems to only change
the hours.

Any suggestions?
