i take it gdbm is an acronym. is it general database modules?
There are a load of .db and similarly titled .txt files in this /products
directory. Would it be the case of deleting the .db files and then the
system rerenders them?

I have been working on a mac ssh'd into my freebsd box. I haven't edited any
files outside the *nix environment.
