[ic] where do templates load into varriables

I know that the templates (e.g. LEFTRIGHT_TOP, LEFTONLY_TOP, etc..) are 
stored in variables, but where is it (which file) that they are loaded 
from disk?  I would like to add some of my own, but I can't seem to find 
this.
