[ic] clearing ship_message from session

I would like to be able to clear the ship_message from a session after the 
message is displayed.  Basically it will say "There is nothing to ship." on 
the checkout page after the checkout page form is submitted, but then the 
message stays there for the entire session unlike the other checkout page 
error messages that clear themselves after they are displayed.  Is there a 
way to get the ship_message to clear in this way also, and would there be 
any drawbacks to doing so?  Thanks!
