You can add any number of arbitrary input fields to the checkout page, and 
validate them in etc/profiles.order using any one of the available order 
check routines. If the field has a corresponding column in the userdb 
table, it will be saved with the user info on checkout. If you want it to 
be saved with the transactions record, you'll need to add that column to 
the transactions table, then modify etc/log_transaction to record the data.
