[ic] IC 4.8.5 - Shipping problem
Because of hardware upgrading we had to upgrade the Redhat
installation to vsn 7.3 to support the new hardware. In the process
it was determine that it would be better to perform a clean
installation of Interchange since our existing vsn was 4.6. Having
said that, the installation went as smoothly as it could although we
had a few headaches with Cybercash communication which we
ultimately worked out.
The file movement from 4.6 to 4.8.5 seemed to go well. SInce
going online we have received 10 orders and there is the problem.
When I went to mark the items shipped with the "Shipped Marked
items send if email if required" button strange things occured. The
first one seemed to go fine, but any after that -- well there was NO
message generated stating that the order shipped nor that the
email had been sent. The order status remained "Pending".
Thinking that we had misconfigured something We checked and re-
checked the settings and files. We tried again and order #5
shipped but #6 and 7 didn't, # 8 shipped, #9 did not, #10 shipped.
The strange thing is that the person that placed #10 got the
message for Order #2 and #6....
The question - is there a specific sequence that needs to be
followed when migrating from earlier versions? The documentation
seems to indicate that if the *.txt is newer than the *.gdbm file that
when the catalog is restarted that the new data will be read (and it
does seem to work that way) BUT I have this error now.
Also, the order status can be changed simply by updating the
item(s) and then the order. So it does not appear to be the
transactions nor the orderline files. Additionally we noticed that the
old transaction file had U0000** in the event that the person
ordering did not create an account, the new orders simply were
blank - is this the cause and if so how is it resolved? We used the
wizard and "launched" the site.
