Maybe when you previously modifird products.txt you did it as a different
user than is running the store.
Maybe your system has quotas enabled and you are over your quota.
I suggest going in to the admin gui, select administration, select tables,
and then select products. Then export it, and see if that corrects the
problem that you had with the lost products file.
