[ic] Simple Newbie questions

Hi... I'm just starting with Interchange and am using the foundation store 
as my basis.

Anyway, my questions are:

1) Is there anyway to add formatting into the comment field in products.txt? 
  I am interested in adding bold, italics, and extra carriage returns.

2) Is there anyway to make subcategories of categories?  For example, the 
area might be "Power Tools" with the category "Drills" and then I want the 
subcategories of "Black & Decker" and "Stanley"
