Salvador,

The functionality may already be in there.  I noticed that in the meta
type for Image Upload that it appends html, you may be able to work with
that code to show an inline thumbnail on your product admin page (It
appears that will already link to a prview image by default).  I have
not worked with the Upload meta type so I'm unsure if it does it
already.  Give it a try and let us know!
