Once AlwaysSecure is set, it cannot be easily overridden using
IC tags alone.  Parameters like secure="0" will not work, as you
have found.

Try the following:

    [calc]
        my $process = delete $Config->{AlwaysSecure}{process};
        my $href = $Tag->area({form => 'mv_click=searchmode'});
        $Config->{AlwaysSecure}{process} = $process;
        return qq{<a href="$href">switch to advanced mode</a>};
    [/calc]

That should remove "process" from the AlwaysSecure hash, create
a URL, set "process" to its original setting and then return a
generated HTML link to your page.

In theory. :-)
