Just my two pence worth...

I ran a recursive wget on my store on my Cobalt Raq3 (AMD K6 300MHz, 256Mb 
RAM) and got an average throughput of 1.62 pages per second (0.6 secs per 
page), in "Low traffic" mode using the built-in database.

Any idea how big an increase in performance might I see from switching to 
high-traffic mode and running MySQL?
