[ic] Current state of XLS import/export

My client is pulling their hair out about the import
export of XLS spreadsheets.  They would like to keep
all their data in a spreadsheet and be able to pull
from Interchange and push to Interchange seamlessly.
This doesn't appear to be happening.  I am running
4.8.1 on a Redhat 7.1 server.

My questions:
	Will moving to 4.8.3 help?
	Where does it put the files? (I type in
		c:\temp\products.xls and it doesn't
		end up there at all)
