the simple search you are looking for is in admin --> design, then select a
category and check its cooresponding link type. a simple search would look
similar to:
category=Hammers
a complex search would look sth like:
sf=category
fi=products
tf=title
..etc, etc.
you can create your own complex searches, it rocks!
