And you are sure that you have DBD::mysql installed?
Just to make sure, as the user that runs interchange, do this on the
commandline

perl -e "use DBI;"

Then try the following:

perl -e "use DBD::mysql;"

Perhaps this will raise some answers or leads to answers for you.
