[ic] separating chown <uid>.<gid> on makedirs script

Hello,

I'm running Interchange on Solaris8 and Solaris8 doesn't like chown with
<uid>.<gid> and when I run bin/makecat it complains :
chown: unknown user id interc.interc
chown: unknown user id interc.interc
chown: unknown user id interc.interc
chown: unknown user id interc.interc
(interc being the account which runs the interchange daemon)

Can we separate chown command to chown and chgrp?
