[ic] adding a new item

when adding a new item i do not get a list of images to choose from like i
did in the older interchange.

i clicked on the image meta and switched the widget to "image listing" and put
in the corressponding directory but nothing???

it just says new and when i click the pulldown nothing pulls down.
is this a bug of interchange 4.7x or am i doing something wrong
can someone help me in trouble shooting this please
