[mv] MV 4.04a - convert-date usertag usage

I am trying to convert a user supplied date into a past date.
For instance I can get a user to pick a valid date in any format
I like (01-Jan-2001 or 20010101 or whatever) but I am trying to
take that date and use a simple function to subtract X days to get
a new valid date.

I have used [convert-date] for several things but when I try to
use it for this as follows:

[convert-date 10]200210100000[/convert-date]

It doesnt add or (using -10) subtract days, rather it just takes the
date and reformats it for output.

Does the [convert-date] function have the ability to take a date string
and add/subtract to come up with a new date.  I've fed it scratch
variables, actual date strings and whatever else I could find but
for me it only will calc a new date when nothing is in between the
tag/end-tag for this usertag.

Anybody have a perl or other usertag to do this ???
