Checkout http://developer.akopia.com for versioning information. As for
item modifiers they work just fine in the current version of IC. We are
working on a site right now that uses them extensively. The only trouble we
have found with them is that the construct demo does not handle them well on
the product list page, we'll be looking into that this weekend and will come
up with a fix. Take it easy.
