>From what I have seen the background html tag does not get parsed like the
img tag. I always put the full path to my backgrounds and any images that
are passed to java script functions. Try using this for your background
inside minivend:
<body bgcolor="#fffafa" background="/images/bgrnd_grad.jpg">
