[mv] Minimate SQL problems?
****** message to minivend-users from Dave <davidgindelberger@yahoo.com> ******
Trying to get minivend to perform consistently: I Installed MV4.02 and tried
MM (MiniMate) on my products database. It sees everything fine. I try to
edit the metadata - it garbles the column whose meta-data I edited (category)
for 10 lines of currently displayed data. I go back to default and the data
is gone, but I can edit it again. I go along merrily editing then quit the
browser. Come back later and try to edit. NO CHANGES STICK and I get this
error:
"/cgi-bin/books/minimate Attempted database update without permission,
table=products key=7678300650"
even though I am NOT editing this record!!!
Then I select the record it pulled out of its butt and I get these errors:
/cgi-bin/books/process.html Bad SQL, query was: select DISTINCT category FROM
products ORDER BY category /cgi-bin/books/process.html Bad SQL, query was:
select DISTINCT subcategory FROM products ORDER BY subcategory
/cgi-bin/books/minimate Bad SQL, query was: select DISTINCT category FROM
products ORDER BY category /cgi-bin/books/minimate Bad SQL, query was: select
DISTINCT subcategory FROM products ORDER BY subcategory
/cgi-bin/books/minimate.html Bad SQL, query was: select DISTINCT category FROM
products ORDER BY category /cgi-bin/books/minimate.html Bad SQL, query was:
select DISTINCT subcategory FROM products ORDER BY subcategory
Any ideas as to why the MM interface is being so fickle?? I did go over the
online doc, and couldn't find anything relevant.
I can repeat this error as well if I delete all the .gdbm files, remove any
info in mv_metadata.asc and clean out the userdb.txt file and minimate.asc file
to just the "superuser" account and restart. I can then edit for a while but
eventually I run into the same problems. BTW saw this on a RedHat 6.1 and
Mandrake 6.0 systems.
ALSO- when it gets funky on me, if I edit a record then hit the submit change
button, it goes to the search engine as if I requested a search on the catalog
and displays the results page!!!!!!!!!
TIA
Dave
