Thomas!,

Usally the are using the PIN number which is the phone's one..., if you
will read
the specification of the wap... you will see that in the documents, only the
OK (select)
and arrows are functional....

That's why they invented Extended WAP..., which with some nice tricks can
get
some input..., But there is also a new protocol which allows much much more
options... and soon will be released to the public...

But at the end there will be a solution for all....

As for each phone model, diffrent kind of page... this is a big probelm
which can be
solved quite easly with a user tag in Minivend..., but the problem... that
each HTML
page that will be parsed by minivend can end with 100kb or more.....
Since you can do somthing like a table that contains information for each
phone
(screen width, keys, fonts, sizes & etc) and then use a tag that will
identify the
cellular phone type & model.... and will couse a diffrent html generated for
each one...

The question is how it will downgrade the speed of minivend to handle such
big files...
The wap is quite fast... Unfourtnly, i could not opreate Minivend In Nokia's
Wap server
but i have some other "wirdo" solutions which i worked with before i got
Nokia's server
and in those ones.... MiniVend Works!

one of them is a beta product from ericson (i always liked them...).

But if pepole will ask for my advise... i would say dont go near WAP...
the technology those days is runing so fast..., You can see Nokia's
Communicator
which is fully windows CE with IE5...., You can see Samsung's Navigator
which
is quite like Nokia... but much smaller....
Ericson & Psion have a (its a prototype yet, but i have seen it working..)
Great phone...
which is much better than nokia & samsung becouse of a simply feature.....
its with
color...

Wap is quite like the old beeper (pager)... but a bit more interactive...
In my country which is considered a bit Hi-Tech country..., we have
solutions
for cellular internet with a speed of 14.4kb to 64kb (as ISDN)... so i dont
see any
reason to use wap while you can get the girl (from the web page) on your
cellular.

Thanks,
Eran.

Hm. As far as I know it is possible to ask for user input. How should a bank
ask for a pin or similar. And I know companys working on a
WAP-chat-solution...

This is the biggest problem, I think. And none of the mobile phones supports
the complete WAP-Standards...
