[mv] Problems checking out in MV4

I am about to go nuts trying to figure out why my checkout form (which is 
verbatim unchanged from the one that MV4 installs in the "simple" database) 
no longer will checkout.  This is the error I get:

Sorry, there was an error in processing this form action. Please report the 
error or try again later. (Column 'zip' cannot be null )

But I'm filling in the zip field!  In fact, I'm filling in ALL the fields, 
just to be sure.  No luck.

I'm a Minivend newbie, if that's not obvious.  But I'm really, really 
stumped and really, really frustrated.  Does anyone have any suggestions as 
to how to figure out what might be wrong?

BTW, I've reconfigured, restarted, re-enchanted, re-tried, re-loaded, and 
otherwise re-annoyed Minivend to try to see if "when in doubt, restart the 
server" really would help.  It didn't, at least in this case.
