There is a closing [/selected] tag but no [selected] tag. Maybe you
deleted it? [bar-button] is a UserTag. Perhaps the problem is with your
catalog.cfg having bad line endings. Make sure you FTP in ASCII mode.

Subject: [mv] transaction table SQL configuration
****** message to minivend-users from Shane Roberts <shane@shaneroberts.com> ******
The "transaction" table of a default MiniVend configuration is
actually broken into two tables in the database.
A normal "Database" configuration tag in MiniVend specifies a
database identifier such as "products" for the products database.
How does one describe the "transaction" database for a MySQL
configuration in MiniVend, since it is two tables not just one?
Then how are "transaction" fields referenced in MiniVend tags to
distinguish which table they are coming from, of the two
transaction tables?
Can anyone help to clear up this confusion for me?
Thanks,
Shane Roberts

Hi Christopher,
thank you. I post only a part of the source, but I checkt it and it is a
start- and end tag available. I didn't touch the menubuttom file. Last week
everything works perfect but as I moved mvend from /home/minivendusr/mvend
to root /mvend I have that problem. I’m sure I make some mistake but I
cant’t figure out what.
I guess the problem is as you
say, the catalog.cfg
SERVER_NAME http://www.salesroomonline.com
CGI_URL /cgi-bin/simple
SECURE_SERVER http://www.salesroomonline.com
ORDER TO minivenduser
IMAGE_DIR /homepages/salesroom/catalogs/simple/images
DOCROOT /homepages/salesroom/catalogs/simple/doc
SAMPLEHTML /homepages/salesroom/catalogs/simple
SAMPLEURL http://www.salesroomonline.com/simple
the dir of simple is /homepages/salesroom/catalogs/simple
and in the minivend.cfg I have
Catalog simple /homepages/salesroom/catalogs/simple /cgi-bin/simple /simple
I call the shop from index.html via <a href="/cgi-bin/simple/noframes"
.....
have a nice Christmas day

Hi Ronald,
First:
If you have change the minivend root, maybe this can cause some trouble.
I would prefer to install minivend to the new root and not to move
minivend.
Second:
I would prefer to get a catalog dir outside from the public root.
This is my catalog.cfg

Ciao is an informal and friendly italian greeting for both hello and good-by taht is mainly used

Well, they wouldn't need to recode anything. You wouldn't be changing
flypage. Those who need to use args would use the new page.
I think flypage does some server side side stuff that precludes it from
opperating in the way you wish. The server checks to see if a static page
exists with name=item-code, if not it does a scan on the products
database, if it matches, it returns flypage with that item. adding
arguments screws up that searching process, I think.

****** message to minivend-users from "Michael Schwartz" <michael@panamacom.com> ******
Happy Holidays to all....
I have a very wierd problem....
I have several catalogs and in all of them the userdb login works
perfectly.....i didnt changed it much from the simple demo.
In a new catalog i am developing, the userdb login works, but only when a
user exists....if the user doesnt exists i get an Internal Server Error
(500)....when i check the error log I get:
.../cgi-bin/catalog5/process Runtime error: Username does not exist
The thing i dont understand is that all the other catalogs work even if the
user doesnt exist.....obvious, if the users doesnt exist, there is no login,
but i dont get the dreaded Internal Server Error....
I copied the same code from the other catalogs that work, and nothing.......
Please, can someone help me with this? I dont think this is the usual
error....and i dont have a clue, but i do have a dateline.....monday 27 :-(
The code im using (the same for all, but in this particular catalog i get
the error described above):
[set Log]
[userdb login]
[/set]
<FORM ACTION="[process-target]" METHOD=POST>
<INPUT TYPE=hidden NAME=mv_click VALUE="Log">
<INPUT TYPE=hidden NAME=mv_doit VALUE="return">

I do believe that the problem may be that the code should read :
[set Login]
[userdb login]
[/set]
You should also check the rest of the code, it looks like you have the
value set to Log where it should be Login

Hi,
It's strange that that worked, since it doesn't
really have anything to do with the problem.
Even if you would change the values to "billy" instead
of "Login" it should still work.
I had a similar problem yesterday: it involved a 500 error
in Netscape when a user tried to login with a cookie and
the username didn't exist or there was a password mismatch.
Maybe you have set CookieLogin Yes in catalog.cfg.
If so, try turning it off by setting it to no or commenting it.
Or try what I did, I upgraded all the perl-modules and all te binaries to
3.14-4
and all is working swell now.
I hope that may help and happy holidays,

yes, thats what i think...it could be Login or anything, if you change the
mv_click to the the same, and you [set] it and give that value to
Submit.....but it actually worked when i did the changes and i dont know
why.......i have 3.14-4.....
and cookie login is commented out.....ill change the 'Login' to something
else today to see if it was a 'day glitch'....or someone has an explanation?
:)

Ok, it is safe to assume the following....
When there is no account created at all (minivend doesnt count), i get the
server 500 error.....as soon as one account is created, the problem
dissappears.....no more error 500 even if the user doesnt exist.....
so, the problem is solved.....someone knows why this behavior?
Bye!!
