I think for compatability, you will need to do something like this:

 <style type="text/css"> <!--
    a:link    {text-decoration: none; color: #808080;}
    a:active  {text-decoration: none; color: #0000FF;}
    a:visited {text-decoration: none; color: #0000FF;}
    a:hover   {text-decoration: none; color: #000000; background-color:

and then:
