Changing the session ID does not fix it.
It seems like it is a HostnameLookups problem. The hosting company on this
domain has upgraded their servers. What should the HostnameLookups entries
look like for Minivend to function properly?

We were experiencing the same problem... Solved, when we "turned
HostnameLookups on" in our "httpd.conf" file. (By default, it is off.)
On our "Redhat/Stronghold/Apache" system, the httpd.conf file is located at
"/etc/httpd/conf" and
that section of the file reads as follows:
=================================
# HostnameLookups: Log the names of clients or just their IP numbers
# e.g. www.apache.org (on) or 204.62.129.132 (off)
# You should probably turn this off unless you are going to actually
# use the information in your logs, or with a CGI. Leaving this on
# can slow down access to your site.
HostnameLookups on
=================================
We decided to try turning it on after reading:
http://www.minivend.com/minivend/faq/03.08.Shopping_cart_is_dropped_when_us.

Hi Amber,
Sometimes, rather than finding an ISP that supports something, it is
easier to simply set up a PC running *BSD/Linux, Apache and whatever
yourself and then look for a really good/cheap ISP with whom to
telehouse/co-locate your server.
You get total control over your environment this way.

You would have to replace any of them that contain the body tag <body>
I would just do a search of all the files in the "pages" directory for
'<body' and then manually add the tags.
Additionally add these to the tag:
<body border="0" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" topmargin="0"
leftmargin="0">

****** message to minivend-users from "K Old" <kevsurf1@hotmail.com> ******
Hello,
I have minivend installed and working correctly. I have placed the CCLib.pm
file in the /lib directory and it is being recognized ok.
I am trying to do a test order (with the correct settings in the catalog.cfg
file set correctly) and keep getting the Order Failed Page. I have tried to
print out the error message but nothing displays.
I think my problem might be not doing this part of the Minivend Help
correctly:
Set your final order screen to accept the user form fields
mv_credit_card_number (contains the actual card number),
mv_credit_card_exp_month and mv_credit_card_exp_year (the expiration date
month and year), and the fields containing name, address, city, state, and
country. And you must define the form field mv_cyber_mode on the submitting
form to enable the processing.
The order mode must be final, either by omitting an order profile entirely
or by defining an order profile that contains &final=yes.
Can someone explain in detail how I set the final order screen (which file
is that?) to accept the 3 form fields that are above? Also, what is the
syntax to defining the form field mv_cyber_mode?
Thanks,
Kevin

Has anyone find a method to determine the size of an uploaded file ?
Better than this naive one:
[perl interpolate=1]
$f = length('[value-extended name=newfile file_contents=1]') ? 1 : 0;
"&set=isfile $f";
[/perl]

Hi,
there are two files (ASCII and db). If you wish to store a new user into
the ASCII-file, try this (for example)
[if session failure]
any codes to inform the visitors....
[else]
[tag flag write]userdb[/tag]
[userdb function=save]
[/else]
[/if]
or
[if session failure]
any codes to inform the visitors....
[else]
[tag touch userdb][/tag]
[tag flag write]userdb[/tag]
[userdb function=save]
[/else]
[/if]

Joachim

Hi Racke,
is your catalog configured for SQL?
It appears to me that the error occurs during initial compilation of the
minivend code. And the errormessage seems to point to the DBI module. If
there is no simple and easy answer to this problem, I shall try to
re-install perl and DBI although I had only just installed the latest
SUSE 6.3 distribution on a new PC. Strange... The only thing I have
done after having installed alpha4 and since installing alpha8 is the
upgrade of mySQL from 3.22.27 to 3.23.7.
Maybe its one of those mesterious things that do occur.

****** message to minivend-users from Franco G <franco_mail@yahoo.com> ******
Hi,
I will be working on the integration of minivend with
an on-line payment system which is propietary and
communicates with sockets via tcp/ip.
I have browsed the mailing list archive but I don't
have a permanent internet connection. Is there any way
to get the mailing list archive zipped or tarred??.
If anyone has done a similar integration, I've seen
that for CyberCash there's a perl module. I'm
developing that kind of integration for another O.S.
in C++, so, is it possible to integrate it using c++
or I will have to move on with perl??
I plan to run Minivend on Linux S.u.S.E. 6.1 with
Apache web server.
Thanks in advance, and happy new year for everyone.

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone that has successfully installed Minivend with
Authorize.net (2.5 or 3.0) would send me a copy of the files they edited to
get it working (taking out all of your important information, though).
I'm sure if I saw an example I would be able to figure it out.
Also, does anyone have it working with Authorize.net?
If so, why isn't there more documentation?
Thanks,
Kevin

Ok, could you give me an example ??

MV 3.14 on debian linux
It seems that if I set AlwaysSecure order in the catalog.cfg and then
order something with a different basket name, the order page is no longer
always secure, because of the format of the url. IE if I order code 1234
into cart test the url comes out as
...catalog.cgi/order/test?dsfsA32;1234;23
And looking at the code for the order tag it takes what is after the order/
when really, order is the page and test is the argument to the page. this
seems to almost be a bug, unless someone was going to have a fixed cart
that was secure and another that wasn't. Problem is my cart name is based
on a vendor name, so I can't put all the possible names in AlwaysSecure,
and [order] doesn't allow secure=1. So is my only option to either order
from a form or add my own code for ordering?

How do I get partial string matches to work when mv_searchtype is "sql"? So far, I can't match
partial strings unless I switch to the "glimpse" searchtype.
Thanks.

Hello,
I am having trouble getting PGP to encrypt credit card information with
the proper key. I have tested PGP manually and it has no problems that I
can see. When I change the ORDERS_TO line in the config file it has no
effect on the encryption key,. It changes the address the order is
mailed to, but the encrypted file is character for character identical.
The wierd thing is I can even figure out what key it is using.
Here are some lines form the config file:
Variable ORDERS_TO bianchi@geronimo.com
Variable ENCRYPTOR pgp -feat __ORDERS_TO__ 2>/dev/null
CreditCardAuto Yes
I am using MiniVend 3.14-3 on a redhat 6.1 secure server and PGP 6.5.2.
I know I'm probably making some very simple mistake, but this has got me
stumped.
Thanks

you probably want to search with the sql wildcard on each side....
so you would search for %blah% if you wanted to find something like 'this is a blah demonstration'
at least thats the sql wildcard for mysql

I tried this from the mailist but it did not work:
[set search values]
[perl arg=values interpolate=1]
my($msg)='[value mv_searchspec]';
my($price)='[value mv_range_max]';
my(@items)=split (/\0/, $msg);
$Safe{'values'}{'s_category'} = $items[0];
